What students experience in Test Mode
When a student enters a Test Mode case, they’ll immediately see a message explaining they’re in a test setting, followed by a persistent Test Mode banner throughout the case.
Their core case workflow stays the same, but certain assistive features are intentionally turned off to support exam integrity:
- Hints
- Immediate feedback on multiple choice questions (answers only appear once the case is complete)
- Alerts when each key finding is discovered
- Alerts when all key findings have been identified
This creates a distraction-free environment that mirrors a real patient encounter while still feeling familiar to students.
How faculty access and request Test Mode cases
Requesting new Test Mode versions
If your program wants to use additional cases in Test Mode, you can request them any time. Contact our customer success team for assistance.
Finding cases
All Test Mode cases requested by and made available to your institution can be found by searching “Test Mode” in your case library.
Assigning cases to a subset of students
If you need to assign a Test Mode case to only part of your cohort, create a separate course for that group. This applies to all DDx assignments, not just those in Test Mode.
